Alan Tung
In 1950, Alan Tung was born in Ping-Tung, Taiwan. At the age of 16, he entered Dung Fang Institute, majored in graphic design. At 23 years old, Alan started his career in advertising and design. He worked as commercial film script writer and copy writer, illustrator for children’s books, newspapers and magazines, graphic designer and corporate image consultant etc. However he has never stopped his pursuit for fine art. At the age of 32, Alan was awarded the highest award in the creative arts field in Taiwan – the National art award, presented by the president.
Other than artworks in water colour and acrylic paint, Alan also did lots of ceramic artworks. He had 2 solo exhibitions in Australia:
(1) 1993 in Sydney Woollahra Holdsworth Gallery
(2) 1998 University of Wollongong, Spark Gallery in the faculty of Creative Arts
Alan enjoys painting Australian landscapes, animals, plants and people. He hopes to create artworks in the future with more of his unique thoughts and styles.
