Belinda Biggs
Having an interest in art from a young age Belinda started her working life in the printing industry as an offset printer, screen printer then graphic artist. Originally, her family moved to New Zealand when she was young, she later returned to England, while there she worked for several printing companies who supplied everything from labels to curtains, to fabric for top 'Chelsea designers' and even royalty.
She now lives on the shores of beautiful Lake Macquarie and enjoys detailed painting and drawing of subjects from the natural world in watercolour, graphite, coloured pencil, pastels and pen & wash, most have a story if you look closely. However when conducting her painting holidays she uses a looser more lay back style.
Belinda is a keen member of the Central Coast Watercolour Society NSW (Life Member and committee position as Graphic Artist), Association of British Botanical Artists, Australian Guild of Realist Artists and now The Royal Art Society of NSW.
She exhibits several times a year, including selection for the prestigious 'Focus on Nature XIII' and 'Focus on Nature XV' with the New York State Museum, the Margaret Flockton Scientific Illustration Award at the Herbarium NSW, Shirley Sherwood Gallery Kew Gardens London and has won many awards for her painting and drawing. Her works are in private and public collections worldwide. She has her artwork reproduced on greeting cards, prints, T towels, scarves, fabric and apparel.
Belinda is a respected and sought-after tutor currently teaching painting and drawing for the Tuggerah Lakes Kincumber Community College also classes in her local area.
