Heidi Hereth has been drawing and painting all her life. After graduating with a Diploma of Graphic Design in 1971, she worked as an Art Director and freelance graphic designer and Illustrator for many years.

In 1981 she started teaching graphic design at Randwick College of TAFE on a part-time basis. From 1993 she taught as a staff member at the Enmore Design Centre till her retirement in 2011. Her teaching duties had an emphasis on colour theory and drawing in the later years.

Heidi became an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society of NSW in 1980 and has participated in their exhibitions since then. She became a member of the Randwick Art Society in 2014.

Heidi has had many solo exhibitions, her most recent being “From the Heart to the coast” at the Waverley Library Galleries in February 2020. She was a finalist in the Drummoyne Online Open Art Prize in June, 2020 and has won first prize in the “Thirsty Artist” competition in 2009 and first and second prize in the Botanic Gardens Sketchabout competition in 2010. She was a semi-finalist in the NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize in 2012

Heidi paints in watercolours and acrylics. She loves to paint natural landscapes, particularly the sea, both above and below the surface. Her painting practice is supplemented with watercolour sketches of figures sunbaking on the beach and coloured pencil sketches of musicians at concerts. She rarely leaves home without a sketchbook.

Her work is represented in private collections in Paris, Germany, England, Thailand & Australia.
