I was born in Sydney in 1944 and spent my early life in The Rocks area and the inner suburbs.  I grew to appreciate the local architecture and the ever changing scene on the waterfront and I often express in my compositions memories of such scenes and ways of life
that have now passed.

I have painted exclusively in watercolour for over forty five years and I truly believe that it is the most beautiful expression of all mediums. Watercolour is always challenging and at times it can become difficult and frustrating to express, whether applied into the wet or dry it can take on different appearances. However, when something works well it is most
rewarding and I like to think that each new painting I attempt is a new experience.

My membership of the Royal Art Society of NSW is one which I value immensely.  Since its formation in 1880 some of Australia’s finest painters have been members and I regard it as a privilege to be a member and to be able to make a contribution to its ongoing success.
