Val Johnson FRAS

I love to paint and I love to travel.  Travel is the inspiration for many of the solo exhibitions I have had in Canberra, NSW and overseas.  I love the outback of Australia and have painted out there many times.  I am an intuitive painter and I love colour.  My work is entirely individual and painted with a passion for the subject.

My career began in the 60's with my study of Commercial Art whilst employed as an artist at David Jones Sydney, where I designed the animated Christmas window displays.

I have been a tutor, have given workshops, and my passion now is to design and lead art tours to show other artists what a wonderful and diverse country we have.  I live in Canberra and am a member of Art in Miniature ACT and Strathnairn Arts Centre.
